Iain McLaughlin's band The Outsiders are spearheading a burgeoning musical scene in Inverness.
Iain McLaughlin has lived in Inverness most of his life and established himself as an integral and dynamic part of the city’s musical environment. Having been in bands since school a music course in Edinburgh served to prove to him that his instincts about what makes great music were right. Originally inspired, a sound that also draws on the big skies and wide horizons of the North of Scotland, music that could only come from where it was made. These are songs that demand attention, and here is a rare chance to hear and Iain in its most striped down form live and acoustic.
Prolific as he is single minded, when Robin isn’t gigging or recording, he’s noodling, writing, making things, singing and strumming guitar. With 2 new releases on Eye Dog Eye Records is in stores and online now. Down To Reverie, & Be Gone, the later, earning 4 stars from Q,
